This is
definitely an area of contention and interest. The following
is a list of westerners that have received 6th dan and above from
main line systems including the JKA, KWF, JKS, JSKA and SKIF.
The list at present is incomplete but as information comes in and is
verified updates will be posted. Some organization that are affiliated
with a main line organization may issue their own diplomas, this is
not a criteria for listing, to be listed the individual must possess
a Japanese certificate of dan from a main line Japanese organization
not an affiliate. This list is provided as information,
and does not in any way suggest that a Japanese issued dan is any
more or less that one issued by any other organization. |
